Meet Dr. Woo
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Dr. Woo obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Western Ontario, and completed her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL, with externships at Detroit’s John Dingle Veteran’s Hospital and the Illinois Eye Institute for Pediatric and Binocular Vision.
Dr. Woo has been in practice for 14 years, most recently in an NYC ophthalmology practice specializing in cataract and glaucoma care. She has provided sports vision screenings at the Special Olympics, and provided eye care to the underserved in Columbia and Bolivia with Medical Missions International, a comprehensive eye care team providing services ranging from eye exams and glasses to cataract surgery.
Dr. Woo is a member of the American Optometric Association. She is an active speaker on vision care topics, including the Glaucoma Foundation, and community health programs and screenings for senior communities. She served as a council member for the College of Optometrists on the Executive Board, and the Quality Assurance and Disciplinary Committees.
Dr. Woo specializes in full-scope optometry, including pre-operative and post-operative surgical care, primary care, ocular disease treatment and management. She brings to Eye Care Northwest a passionate commitment to individualized patient care.
Dr. Woo and her husband have recently relocated to Budd Lake to give their two young boys room to roam. She speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and French, and is a PADI scuba rescue diver. When not improving her cooking/ BBQ-ing skills, she is a voracious reader of suspense, sci-fi and historical fiction.
